2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Program
The Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB), as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Baltimore region, approved the 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and the associated Air Quality Conformity Determination on Tuesday, August 25, 2020.
A comment period was held from Tuesday, June 16 through Friday, July 17, 2020.
The Baltimore region has been designated as not meeting the National Ambient Air Quality Standards and so must review its current transportation plans and programs to ensure conformity with the State Air Quality Implementation Plan (SIP). The Air Quality Conformity Determination report details a comprehensive analysis of the impacts of the 2021-2024 TIP and Maximize2045 on air quality in the Baltimore region. The report addresses ground-level ozone emissions.
The conformity results show that implementation of these projects will not worsen the region’s air quality or delay the timely attainment of national air quality standards.
