Air quality in the Baltimore region has improved to a great extent in the past decade or two. This is largely the result of federal and state regulations to clean up emissions from cars and trucks, power plants, and other sources of pollution. While air emissions are lower than in the past, the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB) continues to work hard at further reducing emissions from transportation.
